Federal Fund Award – Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing

Hawaiʻi has been awarded over $6.6 million in federal funding through the Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing program, thanks to Senator Brian Schatz’s ‘Yes in My Backyard’ legislation. This grant will help establish a State Infrastructure Bank to finance long-term projects, accelerate critical infrastructure investments, and address regulatory barriers to housing production. Governor Josh Green and HUD Regional Administrator Jason Pu highlighted the importance of this funding in addressing the state’s housing crisis and ensuring every family has a home.
